A well-known fetish priest from Akyem Kukuratumi in the Abuakwa North Municipality of the Eastern Region, Torgbui Shettor, who also doubles as Okyeman Sumankwaahene has publicly surrendered to Jesus Christ after over 30 years of idol worship.
Born into a fetish home, and named Jerry Sefahu, Torgbui Shettor was reportedly taken into the wilderness by dwarfs for a year while he was in Class Four.
Upon his return, he was left in a physically disabled condition.
His parents initially sought deliverance through a pastor , but when that failed, he was sent back to the shrine, where he embraced idol worship from a young age.
Speaking to Bryt FM,Togbui Shettor who is Sumamkwaahene of Akyem Abu Akwa explains that his decision to turn to Christianity followed a divine revelation, in which he claimed God appeared to him and called him to salvation.
Acting on this vision, Torgbui Shettor attended a church service on Sunday, January 26, at the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) in Koforidua, where he publicly renounced his fetish practices and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
During the service, he was prayed for, delivered, and officially led to Christ.
Following his conversion, a prayer team from ICGC, led by Rev. Patrick Mawuli, visited Torgbui Shettor’s shrine and conducted a spiritual cleansing by burning over 200 idols and spirits.
In an interview Torgbui Shettor expressed his excitement, saying he feels relieved of the burden of idol worship.
Now a convert Christian, Torgbui Shettor has pledged to avail himself to various churches to evangelize and encourage other idol worshippers to turn to Christ.
He also issued a strong warning to over 200 so-called “men of God” who allegedly visited him in the past to seek spiritual powers to establish churches, urging them to repent and change their ways.
To reflect his new identity in Christ, Torgbui Shettor has requested to be renamed, just as Saul became Paul after encountering God.
