A high-powered delegation comprising government officials, party executives, and military leaders on Wednesday arrived at the Koforidua residence of the late Dr. Edward Omane Boamah to officially inform his bereaved mother of his passing.
The delegation includes Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, his deputy Stan Dogbe, NDC National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketia, Deputy Defence Minister Brogya Genfi, Minister for Government Communication Felix Kwakye Ofosu, and ,Minister of Health Kwabena Minta Akando, Joyce Bawa Mogtari, along with members of the military high command.
Also present at the residence are Council of State member Evelyn Korang, the Eastern Regional Security Coordinator, Regional Police Commander, and the Municipal Chief Executives for New Juaben North and South Samuel Adongo, and Ransford Owusu Boakye.
A heavy cloud of sorrow hangs over the home as family members, party faithful, sympathizers, and friends gather to mourn the sudden death of the former Minister of Defence. Some testified to his generosity and support to many including people he supported in their education, medical interventions, among others.
The official visit was part of protocol to formally inform her, given the high-profile nature of the deceased.

The mood remains somber, as mourners recount fond memories of the late Dr. Boamah, who was widely respected for his service to the nation, his eloquence, and his unwavering commitment to the ideals of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The New Juaben South Municipal Chief Executive Ransford Owusu Boakye said the Region has lost a gem.
He said Dr. Omane Boamah’ was one of the pillars of the party in the region.
Mother of the late Dr. Omane Boamah has since been relocated to Accra for psychological and medical support interventions.
