Management of the Suhum market has banned neither a trader from selling nor patronizing from any market within the municipality of the Eastern.
The trader, “Mama” as affectionately called incurred the wrath of management after chopping off a finger of a fellow trader, Esther Adokpo with her teeth.
According to Bryt FM reporter, Obariba Ba, the two were arguing over a space which led into a fight, with the suspect seen chewing the finger of the victim after chopping it off with her teeth.
Nana Korkor, the Queen-mother of Suhum Market Association in an interview said “Mama” has also been fined an amount of GHC300.00, two schnapps, two sheep, also the ban for invoking curses at the market, despite being contrary to traditions of Okyenman.
She revealed the latter is found of fighting and invoking curses on others hence the decision to also implement hard punishment.
Meanwhile, the Suhum District Police Commander, Chief Supt. Joseph Owusu reacting to the issue confirmed that his outfit is in control of the matter and assured the suspect would also be made to face the law court after the judgment from the Traditional Council is done.
