Ghana international Kamaldeen Sulemana is expected to join Southampton after turning down a move to Everton.
Sulemana is leaving Stade Rennes due to lack of playing time in the ongoing campaign.
Rennes earlier accepted offers for 20-year-old from both Southampton and Everton as they seek to bolster their squad for the second half of the season.
According to L’Equipe, the Black Stars forward has chosen to join Southampton instead of Everton on transfer deadline day.
The Right to Dream Academy graduate has struggled for game time this season following injuries in the first half of the campaign.
He has made 14 appearances and scored one goal in the Ligue 1 this season for Rennes.
Sulemana has made 47 appearances in Ligue 1 for Stade Rennais since joining from Stade Rennais in the summer of the 2021.
