Truck drivers who cart sand on Adeiso to Bawjiase Road clashed with contractors and the Upper West District Security Council over the destruction of the newly constructed road.
The contractors claim the overloaded heavy-duty vehicles plying the road are causing damage to the road.
Together with the police, they attempted to stop the sand winners from using the road with their overloaded trucks.
This led to altercations on Monday between the sand winners and the contractors and the police on another side.
The District Chief Executive for Upper West Akyem, Eugene Sackey who doubles as head of the district security council intervened to resolve the impasse.
