The Asamankese Circuit Court Presided Over by His Honour Abass Abubakari Adams has sentenced two men to Ten Years Imprisonment in hard labour for Stealing Home Appliances, contrary to section 124(1) of Criminal offenses Act 1960.
The two, Isaac Opare, Ex-Convict was Jailed 9 years and Kingsley Gyadu was also sentenced to 12 months.
According to Prosecution Statement, between January and December, 2023 at Abesim – Asamankese Isaac Opare,34 years dishonestly appropriated four 72 inches LG televisions valued GHC54,800.00, one 70 inches LG smart Television valued Gh¢13,700.00, two 65 inches LG smart television Gh¢14,000.00, five 43 inches LG Smart television valued Gh¢24,000.00,two 32 inches LG smart valued television valued Gh¢7,200.00 ,200 pieces of brand new bed sheets valued Gh¢ 24,000.00 ,21 kettles valued Gh¢2,850.00 ,7 bed side refrigerators valued Gh¢1,500.00, cooking utensils value not known, 3 double mattresses valued GH C10,000.00, woolen carpets value not known, 347 brand new towels valued Gh¢40,160.00, door mats value not known, 39 10kg peacock rice valued GHCI3.650.00, unspecified bottles of pejo mineral water, five bottles of cooking oil valued GHC130.00, 5 foreign drink valued GHC37,200.00 and VSOP foreign drink valued GHC4,800.00 all valued GHC259, 990.00, the property of Isaac Kwame Okyere Darkwa.
Kingsley Gyadu,29 years was also sentenced 12 months for aiding and abetting Isaac Opare to Commit crime.
