The Ugandan government is set to spend over $6 million (€5.2 million) to buy a fleet of new cars for President Yoweri Museveni and his deputy.
A further $6 million will be spent on refurbishing the presidential state house and 23 other state lodges scattered around the country, according to The Observer local newspaper.
In 2021, Uganda’s external debt stood at $20 billion, which the country has not paid.
In addition, many Ugandans still struggle to buy essential commodities to survive.
