UK’s Trade Envoy to Ghana, Baroness Kate Hoey together with the British High Commissioner, Her Excellency Harriet Thompson, visited the Ghana Export Promotion Authority.
As part of the visit, they met with a representation of Exporters to discuss the Growth Gateway Service, which is designed to support businesses including SMEs through trade, finance and investment and facilitate their exports to the UK.
Executive Officer, Dr Afua Asabea Asare encouraged the exporters to seek as much clarification as they required after listening to the Growth Gateway presentation, to give their businesses the needed push to scale up their operations.
Baroness Kate Hoey in her opening remarks indicated that engaging exporters prior to the official launch of the Service will allow the UK to gather appropriate feedback to enrich the user experience, making the UK the preferred export destination for Ghanaian businesses.
During a virtual presentation delivered by Nicholas Clark, Program Manager for Growth Gateway, he shared an overview of the project, the support available to Ghanaian businesses, and how it fits into trade relations between Ghana and the United Kingdom.
Exporters were invited from the Agribusiness, Industrial Arts and Crafts, manufacturing and Services sectors.
