The Asamankese Circuit Court presided over by His Honour Ababakari Abass Adams has sentenced an unemployed man to three years imprisonment with Hard Labour for Stealing, causing damage and unlawfull entry.
Daniel Asiedu,the accused was sentenced to six months imprisonment for unlawfull entry, six months for causing damage and 3 years for stealing, all to run concurrently.
Chief Inspector Susana Ayaric, the prosecution officer told the court that complainant is George Zigah, trader in Akyem Techiman and on 27th March 2021 at about 6:30pm, the accused broke the window of the complainant bedroom and took cash amounted to Ghs11,00.00 and the complainant organized some men around to chase the accused upon tip off.
The prosecutor said the complainant was arrested and an amount of Ghs5,960.00 was retrieved from him and the police arrived in the scene later and took the accused person to the complainant house for further investigation and saw that his window was damaged and an amount of Ghs11,000.00 was also stolen as the accused unlawfully entered the room.
The accused was caged in Police custody and was later sent to court for prosecuton.
