Finance Minister, Mr. Ken Ofori-Atta, Minister has stressed the need to give the unemployed youth the skills to find a job to lift them out of poverty,
He said apart from this, there is the need to transform the youth horizons, aspirations, and hopes, and eliminate the singing sense of despondency and poverty of ambition, through helping them get the skills they need for better jobs and giving them a chance to fulfill their potential.
Mr. Ken Ofori-Atta said this when he signed the Second Additional Financing Agreement worth $200 million for Ghana’s COVID-19 Emergency Preparedness and Response Project from the World Bank in Accra.
The minister said “Our work doesn’t end here. We must demonstrate our united front and commitment to rebuilding our communities, “With a joint determination, I believe we can continue to make a valuable contribution towards funding Ghana’s structural transformation. That is our task, our challenge, and our opportunity.”
He said 75 percent of Ghana’s population was below 35 years and 33 percent between 15 and 35 years, the reason the government supported the return of senior high school students with GH¢1.2 billion to ensure their safety and continuity.
