The Upper Manya Krobo constituency executives of the opposition National Democratic Congress, NDC, have presented Ghc6,000 cheque to the Member of Parliament for the area Bismark Tetteh Nyarko to pay for his parliamentary primaries nomination form .
The decision follows overwhelming endorsement by the Constituency executives for the MP to be retained and go uncontested in this year’s parliamentary primaries.
Addressing the media, the Upper Manya Krobo Constituency executives said the MP has demonstrated to be competent leader and servant of the people.
They listed a number of developmental projects from education,health,road rehabilitation, drilling of boreholes and repairs, women economic empowerment, provision of police stations and streetlights among others undertaken by the Bismark Tetteh Nyarko from his share of the common fund.
The Constituency communication officer,Kwasi Lawer who addressed the media revealed that the MP is constructing maternity and children ward at Anyaboni health center ,constructing medical laboratory at Sekesua Health center with state of the art lab equipment.
He added that the MP also donated Ghc12,000 to Akateng community to complete health center project the community was undertaking, donated autoclave,surgical lamps etc valued at ghc20,000 to Asesewa government hospital.
Donated medical equipment such as BP apparatus , thermometers,hand gloves to Plekumase CHPS compound, donated equipment for the X-Ray department,some essential drugs and refrigerator for medical storage.
He also mentioned that whilst lobbying the central government to construct major roads in the Constituency, the MP has hired grader to rehabilitate some deteriorating roads such as Akatawia to Sekesua road ,Summer junction to Breponso -Osonson-Korlenya.
Other roads rehabilitated include Brepor-Fefe-Kokoney road,Korhwe-Brepor road, Odometa road.
Apart from these, the MP has constructed culvert on roads such as Sutri-Akwenor ,Tibuorso,Bomase-Siblinor ,Akrusum and Akotoe.
They said the MP has constructed and repaired many boreholes in Zuyumunor ,Sutri -Akwemor ,Odometa and other communities.
Alhaji Moro Hankuri , the Upper Manya krobo Constituency chairman of NDC say the executives have not violated any constitution of the party for endorsing the MP since they believe he is the only person who can retain the seat for the party in 2024.
The MP Bismark Tetteh Nyarko in response thanked the Constituency executives for reposing confidence in him for his second term bid.
The NDC is expected to open nomination for the parliamentary primaries hopefully this month
