The Department of Urban Roads is undertaking a road intersection improvement project on some roads in both the Greater Accra and Greater Kumasi areas to ensure the smooth flow of traffic.
The areas in Kumasi include the old Bekwai Road at Osei Nkwantabisa Avenue Intersection (Atinga Junction), Old Bekwai Road at Rain Tree Junction (Golden Tulip Junction), New Bekwai Road at Danyame Road Junction (Unity Filling Station), Eastern Bypass (P.V. Obeng Bypass) at Plaza Street, N 10 Intersection (Santansi Roundabout), Eastern Bypass (P.V.Obeng) at Plaza Street Junction, Southern Bypass at TUC Road (TUC Junction) and Southern Bypass at Danyame Road Junction (Ridge Condos).
In Accra, the intersections that will benefit from the projects in the next few weeks are the Spintex Road at N4 Junction (Accra Mall Roundabout), the Empire Concretes Roundabout, Teshie Link Intersection (Manet Junction), Boundary Road at Adjiriganor Road Junction, Independence Avenue Castle Road Intersection (Ridge Roundabout), N4 at Haatso Road Intersection (Atomic Interchange Roundabout, Castle Road at Starlet 91 Road Junction) Osu Cemetery, Coca Cola Roundabout and all the other junctions towards Sakumono.
Others are the Community 18 Junction, Baatsonaa Highway Interchange (Ecobank Junction), Boundary Road Intersection (Kpogas/Coastal Estate Junction), Aviation Highway Junction (Shell Signboard) Nii Klu Street (Jobyco Hotel Junction), N4 at the Gulf House Street Junction (GIMPA Junction) and Jawaharlal Nehru Road at Second Circular Road Junction (Lands Commission).
