Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Member of Parliament for North Tongu showcased Volta Star Textiles Limited also known as Juapong Textiles located to the British High Commissioner, H.E. Harriet Thompson and her delegation on Tuesday.
Now employing 750 Ghanaians, it is the vision to secure strategic partners so we can revamp and create more jobs for at least 3,000 young constituents and other citizens.
“The textile industry which is a pale shadow of its glorious past has great potential into the future, particularly as we are ushered into an era of African Continental Free Trade Area — we are determined to revive that dream” he stressed.
Hon. Ablakwa stated that “As MP, I shall continue to work closely with Dorfor Chiefs, VSTL management, workers, and other key partners as we leverage opportunities to make my vision of a revamped, expanded and modern 3,000 jobs textile factory a reality”.
