Foreign Affairs minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa with the Chinese Ambassador to Ghana, His Excellency Tong Defa inspected the land earmarked for the ultramodern market with ancillary facilities which would be constructed with the recently secured US$30million grant from China.
The Minister was deeply grateful to Togbui Adjongaga Amenya Fiti V, Paramount Chief of the Aflao Traditional Area, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts and MP for Ketu South, other traditional leaders and the good people of Aflao for their generous land allocation and incredible warmth.
Okudzeto Ablakwa confirmed that the Aflao Traditional Area has allocated 159 acres of land for this priority project.
When completed, the ultramodern market project pledged by President Mahama will boost ECOWAS trade, accelerate integration, promote the laudable objectives of the African Continental Free Trade Area, create massive jobs and transform the historic trading enclave of Aflao.
He indicated that President Mahama is a leader who keeps his promise.
This non-refundable gift from the government and people of China is another significant milestone in our outstanding Ghana-China relations.
