The Hohoe Municipal Office of the National Commission for Civic Education has met with transport operators and their union members; Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU), Millennium Transport Union, Cooperative Transport Union, and Global Transport Union at the Hohoe lorry station.
The Municipal Director of NCCE, Ernest Amedior, appealed to members to be law-abiding to ensure sanity in the transport industry and discipline in their communities.
He asked them to maintain a clean environment explaining that, ‘it’s your civic duty to safeguard the environment.’
On promoting security in the Hohoe Municipality, Mr. Amedior charged the transport operators and members of the union to always report suspicious characters to the Police and other security services in the district.
According to him, such reports to the security agencies, prevent the activities of offenders and violent extremists from infiltrating their communities.
The members were made to play these civic roles to support nation-building efforts for a better Ghana for all.
