Gyapong Cudjoe, Former NDC Volta Regional chair has emphasised that any candidate that want to compete former President John Mahama should be someone who has contested internal primaries of the party or forget their aspirations.
Speaking at the official launch of the campaign of the former president at the University of Health and Allied Science (UHAS) Mr. Gyapong Cudjoe said the NDC needs someone who has rose from contesting in elections from Assembly to party internal affairs.
He insisted the NDC with the aim of winning the 2024 elections needs Mr. John Mahama due to his rich intelligent experience in the political affairs of the country.
“Anyone who want to contest John Mahama should ask himself if he had contested for a parliamentary primary or the party’s internal elections” the former Regional Chairman stated.
Meanwhile, some regional chairmen of the party at the event pledged their commitment to support Mr. John Mahama on behalf of their various regions.
They are, seeking to accrue about 98% of the total votes in the party’s flagbearership contest slated for May this year.
