Minister for Works and Housing, Hon Kojo Oppong Nkrumah(MP) has led a delegation of technical experts from the Ministry, Land Use and Spatial Planning Authority, (LUPSA) Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Bureau of National Intelligence and other technical bodies to Central and North Tongu districts of the Volta region.
The visit is to commence construction of Resettlement homes for persons who require support following the overflow of the volta lake as well as the effects of the volta dam spillage by the Volta River Authority.
Affected persons from 19 districts in the volta region are expected to benefit from this Government Resettlement programme.
With experts having gathered data on affected persons, validation of the data and actual construction of the homes is expected to commence in the next 2 months.
The minister was optimistic the project will be completed within six months after commencement and assured victims of government’s commitment to relief them.
