Roads and Highways minister Francis Asenso-Boakye embarked on a working tour of the Volta region; accompanied by the Volta Regional Minister, Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa and Hon. John-Peter Amewu, Minister for Railways Development and MP for Hohoe.
The minister inspected the dualization of the Ho Main Road (Sokode Gborgame-Civic Centre) and the traffic management works in Ho.
Originally awarded in 2016, main construction began in 2017 and has since been fully completed under the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration.
Following this, the minister evaluated the progress on the dualization of the Ho by-pass: Sokode Etoe-UHAS-Titrinu, which is 50% complete.

The by-pass is expected to alleviate congestion, facilitate smooth transit through the municipality and promote socio-economic development and living standards in the region.
Prior to this, the minister and his entourage had inspected the newly completed Atimpoku-Asikuma Road (26km), another accomplishment of the current administration.
Asenso-Boakye indicated “Additionally, I examined a bridge/culvert in Juapong, which recently experienced severe flooding due to poor solid waste management practices. I have since directed officials of the Ministry to undertake a routine maintenance of the channel to enhance its capacity to hold storm water, with the view to preventing future occurrences.

These infrastructure projects, among others, underscore the commitment of the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration to enhance connectivity and improve the quality of life for residents in the region.
