As part of the activities to mark this year’s chocolate day celebration, MTN GHANA has organized a blood donation exercise in Odumase Krobo in the Lower Manya municipality of the Eastern region to support the Eastern regional hospital blood bank.
The activities were done amongst students and some teacher’s at Manya Krobo Senior High School (MAKROSEC).
MTN Ghana Foundation annual blood donation exercise dubbed “Save a Life” resumed its activities after a two year break due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The program was initiated to give staff of MTN, its trade partners and the public the opportunity to show love on Valentine’s Day by donating a unit of blood to help save lives.
This year, the campaign will take place in all 16 regions simultaneously on Tuesday, 14th February 2023 between 8am- 4pm. The annual Valentine’s Day blood donation exercise this year is targeted at collecting 4000 units of blood to stock various blood banks across the country.
Speaking to the media, the Territory Sales Controller, Eastern region, Ebenezer Okaikoi – Tetteh said the foundation will continue to support various hospitals to save lives of the vulnerable.
He mentioned that they expect 300 units of blood in the Eastern region, and 4,000 units across the region.
The Regional blood donor organizer at the Koforidua regional hospital, Madam Philomina Quayson, was grateful for the partnership and encouraged corporate institutions, churches and the general public to donate blood at their various hospitals to help save blood.
