Shell Vivo Energy has relieved students and teachers of Akropong School for the Blind as a multi-purpose modern printer has been donated to the school to replace an old-fashioned one.
The school also received bags of rice, learning drills, and chocolate.
The donation at the school’s premises was done on Monday; 14th February 2022 coincided with the popular Valentine/Chocolate day.
Shirley Tony Kum, Head of Cooperate Affairs at Shell Ghana in a brief statement mentioned the donation became necessary following an earlier interaction with school authorities who requested for a new printer to replace an old one that is not functioning properly.
She indicated that the printer is multi-functional as it can print both colored and black, print photocopies, and scan documents as well.
“We came with chocolate to celebrate valentine and chocolate day with you. We also brought you bags of rice and learning drills to help you stay comfortably and study without challenges” madam Shirley Tony Kum stressed.
She added, “It is time to shift the focus of Valentine’s Day celebration from personal affections and rather look into the big picture of assisting the needy as Vivo Energy and Shell-Ghana always do”.
Mr. Samuel Koranteng on behalf of the school was grateful to Vivo Energy for the support, emphasizing it would do away with high costs in terms of printing and other activities.
He assured the printer, learning drills and the food items would be put to good use to ensure they benefit both students and teachers.
He revealed the school survive on government and donations, and therefore, called on all individuals and co-operate bodies to extend love to the students.
Master Oheneba Tawiah, the Senior Prefect of the school who spoke on behalf of the entire students’ body pledged to study hard and make good use of the donation they have received.
