Vice President Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia, also the flagbearer of the NPP, extended his political outreach by attending an IFTAR event at the Suhum Ayekotse Central Mosque, where he engaged with Imams, Chiefs, and constituents from the Suhum Constituency in Eastern Region during the weekend.
Accompanied by prominent party members including NPP chairman Frederick Ofosu, Suhum MP Hon. Kwadjo Asante, MCE Hon. Margaret Darko, and NPP National Campaign Manager Hon. Frederick Opare Ansah,and Frank Asiedu Bekoe, alias PROTOZOA, the NPP Parliamentary Candidate-elect for Suhum, Vice President Bawumia seized the opportunity to connect with community leaders and discuss pressing issues facing the region.
Amidst the gathering, discussions pivoted towards the upcoming 2024 elections, with Vice President Bawumia rallying support from attendees and expressing confidence in the NPP’s ability to secure victory.
Dr. Bawumia made a bold declaration to the Muslim community, promising to bring the Qur’an to Jubilee House, Ghana’s seat of government, if elected as President.
He said “after December 7th I will take the Qur’an and pray and take it to the Jubilee house. It is Possible “
Dr. Bawumia reflected on his journey within the NPP, emphasizing the significance of his victory in securing the party’s flagbearer position despite initial skepticism about a muslim leading the party.
He attributed his success to divine intervention due to overwhelming support he got from Christian members within the party.
Expressing his aspirations for the upcoming presidential election, Vice President Dr. Bawumia underscored his desire to serve as President for two terms, contrasting his potential eight-year tenure with Mahama’s remaining four-year presidency.
