Violence and disputes have become a recurring theme in Ghana’s elections, according to Senior Security Consultant Richard Kumadoe.
He emphasizes that prosecuting individuals involved in electoral violence is crucial to breaking this cycle experienced over the past years in Ghana’s political history.
Mr. Kumadoe stressed that politics should be set aside, and allow individuals to be held accountable for their actions, regardless of party affiliation, whether NDC or NPP.
This assertion was made during an interview on Bryt Adekye Mu Nsem with Kwamina Sam Biney.
“They have to prosecute the people as individuals and take away politics or else, this thing will continue for a very long time”.
He was worried the police have never prosecuted anyone for electoral violence and due to that, “some people can steal government cars and put private number on it without any punishment attached to that. We have to be aggressive on that or else it will never be avoided”.
“Some of the security officers really did well and the reason the boys are angry is that, the EC kept long in declaring the results”, the security capo emphasized.
