Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Deciders Association at Gomoa Nyanyano Kakraba (Ecowas) in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region, Seth Ohene Ntow, has asked journalists to commit their time to visit orphanage homes in the country to identify their challenges.
According to him, there are a growing number of challenges flooding orphan homes that need to be addressed but it seems such problems are not well known.
Speaking one-on-one with Bryt Fm Correspondent Eric Owusu Amponsah, Seth Ohene Ntow urged journalists to pay regular visits to orphan homes as they go out to fetch stories to enable the government to find solutions to those challenges because the children require care and support.
“The children deserve to be pampered and heartened to aid them to recover from any ailment they are going through hence let’s pay regular visits to orphans’ homes and support them,” he said.
He made this comment after the Association donated some items including clothes, toiletries, bags of rice, sugar, assorted drinks to children at the Ghana Make A Difference Orphanage Home at Gomoa Dabenyi in the Gomoa East District.
Mr Seth Ohene Ntow, therefore, pleaded with the government, benevolent associations, organizations and Ghanaians as a whole to support the homes to feed the children.
A Caregiver, Madam Juliana Addae who received the donation on behalf of the home expressed gratitude to the Deciders Association for their massive success since the home lacks basic facilities which hinder the normal growth of the children.
Some major challenges that were revealed from the orphanage home include lack of food, clothes, shoes, and other stationery for the kids hence they have received plenty of them and yet expect more to enable them to give the children luxurious life.
Madam Juliana hopes for more future teamwork with organizations and other institutions to help impact lives for orphans because it is a joy to put smiles on the faces of the needy.
