The main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Bibiani Ahwianso Bekwai Constituency, has called on the constituents to vote out of the Member of Parliament for the area and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) come 2024 general elections.
According to the NDC Constituency Communication Officer, Henry Konney said on January 9, 2023, the MP, Hon. Alfred Obeng Boateng wanted to organise a demonstration against government due to lack of development since the NPP took power but he was been chastised by the party’s leadership, exposing the ills and bad governance mencing out out to the good people of the onstituency.
He described the situation as such a cowardly unpatriotic act exhibited by the MP for letting his party’s interest to override the masses interest, describing it as very insensitive and irresponsible on his part as an MP.
Mr. Henry Konney accused the lawmaker of failing to establish cordial relationships with stakeholders within the constituency on how to benefit from the many natural resources available to the people.
He mentioned the constituency are custodians of rich minerals such as; gold, bauxite, cocoa, timber, and many others.
The NDC Communicator finally stressed out that the power struggle within the Municipality about whom to be appointed as the MCE is becoming a great hindrance to the development of the constituency and needs to be addressed by a competent leader.
