Mrs. Hajia Samira Bawumia, the second lady of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has asked party members to be steadfast and support candidates who can keep the party in power in 2024.
She urged everyone not to be persuaded by scathing language from certain people who threaten to put the party into opposition if their demands are not satisfied, describing the 2024 elections as a unique election for the party.
Mrs. Hajia Samira Bawumia, who has been visiting certain Ashanti Region constituencies, advised everyone to prepare for the 2024 elections with a unified front.
“If we are prepared to win the 2024 elections, we should be measured by our utterances and how we communicate. Let it be known that the November 4 polls are an internal party matter, and it is special for the party. We need to show a united front and rally behind the person who can give us power”, she urged.
Regarding candidates who assert that the NPP would face resistance, she remarked, “Those who are bitter and going about campaigning claiming the party will go into opposition if their demands are not met will they get whatever they are seeking if the NPP is in opposition? If they are in opposition, will they be able to approach any Minister or DCE for support? Maybe they and their families are satisfied and that is why they may be charting that path. He is comfortable, so let us look sharp and vote for a leader for every generation”
