Volkswagen (VW) is expected to launch its first assembled vehicles in Ghana after setting up an assembly plant in Ghana.
The Minister for Trade and Industry, Alan Kyerematen paid a working visit to the assembly site of Volkswagen (VW), Ghana in Accra ahead of the launching of its first assembled vehicles in Ghana.
Head of the VW Sub-Saharan Region, Mr. Thomas Schaefer and the Minister of Trade and Industry, Alan Kyerematen signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish a vehicle assembly facility and to assess the feasibility of a modern Mobility Concept for Ghana.
The Minister and his team were impressed at the pace at which VW is moving and has re-echoed the commitment made by the President, “I assure Volkswagen and its local assembler in Ghana of the full support of the government in creating an enabling environment and incentive framework to make their investment a major success.”
