The Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Hon. James Klutse-Avedzi has noted that Unearned Salaries which used to lead the number of infractions among the Assemblies in Central and Western Regions is sharply declining.
“This simply tells you that most Assemblies are now abiding by the financial laws of the county. They are now going through the proper process of procuring, paying through GIFMIS and making sure that the right people are paid” he stated.
The Chairman of the Committee made this known when the Committee began its Public Hearing in Takoradi, Western Region on Monday.
The Committee is in Takoradi, Western Region to consider the 2021 Report of the Auditor-General on the Management and Utilisation of District Assemblies Common Fund and Other Statutory Funds for the year ended 31st December, 2021.
Other Reports include the Public Accounts of Ghana – Polytechnics for the period ended 31st December, 2021 (Takoradi Technical University and Cape Coast Technical University) and Pre-Tertiary Education Institutions for the year ended 31st December, 2021 (Western Region SHSs)
Ahanta West, Effia Kwesimintsin, Nzema East Municipal, Prestea Huni Valley District, Shama, Wassa Amenfi West, Amenfi East, Amenfi Central, and Ellembelle were among the Assemblies and Municipalities that appeared before the Committee.
The Senior High Schools that were cited in the Report include Daboase SHTS, Half Assini SHS, St. Johns Senior High, Benso SHS, Axim Girls SHS, KiKam SHS and Manso Amenfi SHS.
