As part of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) initiative to embark on corporate registration exercise, staff of West African Examinations Council (WAEC) have successfully enrolled unto the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).
Relieved with the NHIS presence at their premises, they took turns to register and enquire about the benefits of having an NHIS medical insurance cover.
While workers within the environs of the WAEC head office also joined in the registration exercise, those who had expired membership with the scheme were assisted to renew and made to link their NHIS card to the Ghana card for seamless access to healthcare using the Ghana card.
The NHIA team sensitized WAEC staff and other patrons of the scheme on the benefit package, medicines list and urged them to replicate this gesture wherever they find themselves using the MyNHIS mobile App by registering family, friends and colleagues.
The special corporate registration exercise which is organized by the corporate affairs directorate in collaboration with the membership and regional operations unit of the NHIA, forms part of measures to increase the NHIS active membership with an ultimate objective geared towards attaining Universal Health Coverage (UHC) by the year 2030.
