Hon Frederick Kuranchie, the Municipal Chief Executive for Wassa Amenfi east in the western region has taking the initiative of clearing drains in two major river bodies in Wassa Akropong that over the years has been over flooding whenever there is a downpour.
The two rivers are the Ashire and Adankasa all found in Wassa Akropong, the municipal capital of Wassa Amenfi east.
According to Hon Frederick Kuranchie, the need has become necessary because of the recent heavy downpour and that the municipal assembly will not wait till the unfortunate happens before the central government comes in to support.
Hon Kuranchie appealed to the residents of the Wassa Amenfi east east municipality to desist from throwing garbage into gutters and drains in order to allow free flow of water whenever there is a downpour.
