The Member of Parliament for Wassa Amenfi East constituency in the Western region Hon. Nicholas Amankwah, is known for consistently uplifting the confidence of Basic Education Certificate Examination candidates and this year is not an exception.
The MP who is popularly known as Home Boy in conjunction with some constituency party executives in Amenfi East visited the candidates at their various examination halls to inspire their confidence and optimism on their final basic education examination.
The NDC MP as part of his tour, he donated undisclosed amount of cash and presented 3,052 mathematical sets to all the final year candidates who are writing their Basic Education Certificate Examination in his constituency.
Addressing the Media at Wassa Akropong after the donation said, he want quality education to be accessible and affordable to all school going age in his constituency because as a member of Parliament, he believes that, education is a powerful tool for human and community development which will help push Amenfi East to the limelight.
Nicholas Amankwah expressed satisfaction with the working relationship the headteachers has built with the municipal education directorate, and used the opportunity to thank the headmasters and their teachers for their tireless contribution towards the exams.
He encouraged the education directorate to keep knocking at his door, and assured them of his readiness to join hands with them to improve education in the municipality.
Hon. Nicholas Amankwah, in his motivational address, encouraged the candidates to believe in themselves and feel comfortable at their centres.
The lawmaker told journalists that examination malpractices remained a serious offence that could truncate the education of the children and thereby ruin their future thus, he has advised the candidates to eschew examination malpractices.
Home Boy finally wished the candidates a peaceful and successful examination.
The Municipal education director for Amenfi East Mr Joseph Amoasi commended the Member of Parliament for the area for prioritising issues pertaining to education.
Mr. Amoasi acknowledged some key aspects in the educational sector, which received support from the MP, such as infrastructure and coordination, among others.
The students and staff of all the schools expressed satisfaction with the MP’s performance and wished him well in his political journey.
