President of the Responsible Small Scale Miners Philip Bawah has expressed disappointment at Organised Labour for reversing on it’s intended strike slated for Thursday, October 10, 2024.
According to the Association, the decision by Organised Labour was unfortunate as they were solidly behind them in helping to deal with the menace of illegal mining popularly known as galamsey.
In an interview with Kwamina Sam Biney on BRYT Adekyee Mu Nsem on Thursday, Mr. Philip Bawah indicated the activities of illegal mining has a toll effect on their work as most of their concessions have been tampered with by the perpetuators of these acts.
“All of us were behind Organised Labour to take up that bold decision so government knows the dire effects Galamsey is having on Ghanaians but look at what they did. Instead of been consistent on their plea, they (organised labour) decided to bow out at the last minute” Mr. Bawah added.
He revealed that his outfit had planned to demonstrate today, Friday October 11 but decided to put it on hold to support organised labour, not knowing it will end this way.
