The residents of Yilo Krobo and Manya Krobo in the Eastern Region have lamented that they are experiencing darkness (Eclipse of the sun) as a result of a misunderstanding between them and the Staffs of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).
According to the residents, the company was found to have systematically overbilled its customers, which erupted a volcano-like misunderstanding between both parties.
In an interview with Abena Opokua Ahwenee on Dadi Fm’s Efa Wo Ho morning show, one of the inhabitants, Mr Gabriel lamented that without electric power, they can’t use their home appliances.
“We’ve been in total darkness for some days now which destroyed most of our electrical gadgets. Most of our colleagues have cold stores, soft drinks, pure water sellers and metal welders facing a lot of challenges” said Mr Gabriel.
“EGC cannot solve the Kroboland issue, and we are pleading with the government to come to our aid and render quality services to us,” the resident said.
“We will find ways and means to have access to electricity in our communities,” Mr Joshua Evor, the secretary of the united Krobo foundation told Abena Opokua Ahwenee on Dadi Fm.
He said that the ECG has supplied generators to the chiefs of Odumase krobo and some leaders leaving the inhabitants behind.
