Nana Akomea, the Chief Executive Officer of STC, has raised concern over the recent power outages in Ghana.
While speaking on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” show on Tuesday morning, Nana Akomea continued to refer to the current scenario as “dumsor” despite the government’s refusal to admit it. She also urged the authorities to solve the issue immediately.
He cautioned the energy providers about the effects of the blackout on the government, pointing out that the year is one of elections and that the ongoing blackout will negatively harm the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming elections in December.
“If we don’t resolve the problem early, all the seven years that our lights stayed on will go waste. This year is also an election year and if we don’t do it early, it will go against the government . . . we have to let Ghanaians know why this dumsor is happening, whether it is a financial challenge or something else, and the government must find ways to address it,” he warned while calling on the Electricity Company of Ghana to swiftly resolve the challenge.
