Director of Elections at the Electoral Commission (EC), Dr. Serebour Quaicoo has confirmed the just ended voter registration exercise went well as expected by the mandatory electoral body.
Speaking with Kumasi based Wontumi TV, Dr. Quaicoo stressed that despite a few challenges and misunderstanding at some registration centers, the whole exercise got the targeted results.
The EC has completed the compilation of new voters register for the December 7, 2020 elections amidst controversies and rejection especially from the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
According to him, the commission has instituted a committee to deal with registrants who are challenged and is expected to be completed by the end of the month.
He has, therefore, urged Ghanaians to exercise restraint as the EC will do anything possible as mandated by law to ensure the elections are held in a peaceful atmosphere to favor all political parties and contenders.
