The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has inaugurated a new office complex at the Komenda Edina Eguafo Abirem ( KEEA) district in the Central Region.
This is to make the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) services easily accessible to residents of the area.
The NHIA Chief Executive, Dr. Bernard Okoe-Boye inaugurated the edifice at a colourful ceremony as part of his three-day working visit to the region, that began on Monday February 20, 2023.
According to him, the development formed part of government’s fulfilment to complete projects to serve the people of Ghana.
He said the Authority was working hard to provide decent office complexes in densely populated communities that lacked such facilities.
He encouraged the NHIS KEEA district management team and the frontline staff to go the extra mile and increase the Scheme’s active membership.
Dr. Okoe-Boye reaffirmed the Authority’s non-negotiable stance on eliminating extra monetary demands (Copayments) by some credentialed healthcare service providers for services and medicines preserved in the Benefit Package.
