“Look at us now, we drink the same water with animals and sometimes deep down in my heart I feel pains and it seems the people we voted for does not care at all, but if they don’t fix this, we can’t vote whiles we are drinking with animals”.
Residents of Kramo-Krom, a farming community in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region made the above appeal to the government to provide them social amenities.
There are about 400 residents of Kramo-Krom who do not have access to clean and potable water.
The inhabitants depend on the unsafe water from the roots of a certain falling tree, which also serves as a source of drinking water for livestock.
According to them, women and children fetch the unsafe water from there and drink it directly without purifying the water and it is used for cooking and other household chores.

“We are not voting for any political party until our problem is solved,”
“We have been complaining, but no one cares, and this water is gradually killing us. I know it will get to time. There would be an empty Kramo-Krom, because we will die, they lamented bitterly” residents lamented.
They added that they climb hills, mountains to access network to make calls.
Due to the absence of telecommunication network reception in the area, they regret being left behind by the government’s digitalization program affecting businesses, communications among others in the area.
The residents claimed that the situation had made communication difficulty causing havoc and mess, affecting growth and development.
They also appealed to the government to construct a classroom block for us. Our future leaders walk more than 3 kilometers before accessing education.
This, according to them, would ensure sustainable academic excellence in the Kramo-Krom community.
Nana Kwame Adama, Kramo-Krom Chief, added that he has been talking to the MP for just one borehole, but he is not responding. It breaks his heart to see his people like this.
According to him, he has been trying his best but in vain, and no positive result from the big men in suit to provide them with social amenities.
“Enough is enough. We are tied off. lies if our problems are not solved, we will not allow any politicians to come and campaign here again,” he voiced out.
