Ghana Medical Association (GMA) has clarified that it did not advocate for the cancellation of certificate and diploma nursing courses, contrary to reports circulating on MyJoyOnline.
The misinformation stemmed from comments made by Dr. David Tenkorang Twum, General Secretary of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA), during an interview on PM Express.
The GRNMA, not the GMA, was referenced in the comments regarding potential changes to nursing education.
“We wish to clarify that the Ghana Medical Association has not issued any statements regarding the cancellation of nursing courses,” stated the General Secretary of the Ghana Medical Association. “The remarks in question were made by Dr. David Tenkorang Twum of the GRNMA, as clearly shown in the accompanying video.”
