Earlier report that the women’s wing of the National Democratic Party (NDC) in the Ashanti Region paid for the nomination papers for Dr. Kwabena Duffour, a flagbearer hopeful, has been disputed.
All 47 of the region’s constituency women’s organisers and their deputies rejected the reportage and demanded that Gloria Huze, the Regional women’s organiser who picked up the nomination form for the former Governor of the Bank of Ghana on February 23 will receive sanctions.
Gloria Huze, the NDC’s Ashanti Regional Women Organiser, led a delegation to pick up the nomination forms on behalf of the party’s local women’s wing.
However, the NDC Women’s women’s wing and their representatives from Ashanti region constituencies has denounced the said report and urged the party to punish Madam Huze in accordance to the party’s structures.
Phylis Manu Manassian, the NDC’s Ashanti Regional Deputy Women’s Organiser, spoke during a news conference in Kumasi.
“All that we are saying is that it is false that all constituency Women’s Organizers have endorsed the candidature of Dr. Kwabena Duffuor. We don’t have anything to do with it, and we don’t agree with what she did or said”.
“We have party structures, and we are seeking our national executives to take steps to sanction her for what she did, and we want the leadership of the party to do all that is good to hand her sanctions to suit what she did”.
