Eastern Regional Organiser of the ruling New Patriotic Party, Kwame Appiah Kodua, has warned all flagbearer hopefuls and party supporters to desist from campaigns in favor of their aspirations.
He has, however, urged appointees and party supporters to rather support President Akufo-Addo’s second term to help him deliver on his promises, to break the 8-year political power mantra.
He disclosed this in an interview with Bryt FM Kwabena Nyarko Abronoma in Koforidua after a press conference on the party’s stand in the region.
Mr. Kwame Kodua also emphasized that the leadership of the party in the region had not endorsed any person as far as the flagbearer position is concerned.
“The NPP and for that matter, a flagbearer can win the 2024 election for the party based on the achievements and legacy President Akufo-Addo would leave behind, hence the need to support him in that direction rather than seeking parochial interest”.
“We have to wait for the party to open nominations as prescribed in the party’s constitution before starting any campaign for the flagbearer position” the Regional Organiser stated.
