Public Relation Officer for National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) in the Eastern Region, Mr Joseph Nii Komi has said they have put measures in place to prevent the spreading of coronavirus in their various registration centres.
According to him, Children under five years, pregnant women and people who are under Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) program are allowed to be registered in order to curb the spreading of coronavirus in the country.
He added that, due to Pandemic disease that is gradually taking over the whole country, NHIA will not allow a huge number of people gather in their registration centres because the president has laid a ban social gatherings.
Speaking in an interview with Mybrytfmonline reporter, Mr Joseph Nii Komi said coronavirus has brought fear and panic and due to that, no patient should come to their registration centres for NHIS card because the country is in an emergency situation.
“Veronica buckets and hand sanitizers are available in all our offices for people who are in for registration to wash and sanitize their hand in order to prevent them from the Pandemic disease,” he revealed.
Mr Joseph Nii Komi also advised the public to follow the directives ordered by the government because the recorded cases have risen to 52 within the past weeks.
