Justin Frimpong Kodua, the General Secretary of the organization has said that the party members must avoid being at each other’s throats as the party prepares to choose parliamentary candidates and a flagbearer
“We must stop the character assassination. When you undermine a party member, think of what happened to us in 1979 and 2008 when we lost the elections,” he said.
His assertion comes as the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) launches its 30th-anniversary celebrations with a call on party members to unite to propel the party to victory in 2024.
He promised that in the future contest for flagbearership and the primaries to choose parliamentary candidates, the current national executives would serve as unbiased arbiters.
A formal founding of the NPP took place on July 28, 1992.
The celebration will include a Christian thanksgiving service on Sunday, July 30, 2022, as well as an Islamic prayer of thankfulness at the National Mosque tomorrow, Friday, July 29, 2022.
