The Member of Parliament for Mpraeso Constituency in the Eastern Region, Hon. Davis Opoku Ansah also known as OPK has said, a decisive, determined, and focused leader would be required to lead the New Patriotic Party front in the Eastern Region.
Hon. Davis Opoku Ansah listed three major requisite requirements that will enable and help the NPP in the region to break the 8 mantra.
“Well, my support for Jeff is based on three things. We need a leader who is determined, focused, and willing to be a regional Chairman to serve the party in Eastern Region, not someone who will file based on someone’s request to do so, and for me, such a person is a failure in the first place”, he told Otafregya Agyenim Boateng on Koforidua based Bryt FM’s Ebe Si Sen on Thursday, May 27.
“We need a leader who was prepared, has a good message for it, and has a good strategy and a good heart for it and as for me, Jeff Konadu stands tall”, he added.
According to the Mpraeso lawmaker, anybody who wants to lead must have a vision and foresight and must be determined as to what they want.
He contended that comparing the two candidates vying for the Chairmanship, Mr. Jeff Konadu Addo stands tall in all circles.
“If you compare the two opponents, I mean you can’t tell me you’ve been a constituency chairman two weeks ago and now you want to stop the constituency Chairman to be regional and as for me, it’s the most indecisiveness anybody can do at all if you do that, you’re an indecisive leader and such a person is unfit to lead the party in the region and that’s why I’m going for Jeff Konadu Addo”, he added.
Kwadwo Agyemang Boateng, immediate past New Juaben North Constituency Chairman of the NPP is rather contesting the incumbent Regional Secretary Jeffrey Konadu for the Regional Chairmanship position.
The contest has sharply divided the party as the presidency and some bigwigs of the party are unfairly meddling in the contest and manipulating the process in favor of Mr. Boateng, however, the campaign of Jeff Konadu is receiving a massive endorsement from members of Parliament and many delegates who believe the decision of Mr. Boateng to contest is an afterthought and hidden agenda having been elected Constituency chairman three weeks ago.
The NPP Eastern regional elections will take off on Saturday, May 28 at the Koforidua cultural center.
