A former Member of Parliament for Subin Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Eugene Antwi Boakye, has advocated that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) should seek for men with veracity of which he believes that’s the gateway to lead the party to victory in 2028.
Speaking on Lawson TV, he stated that the party has reached a crucial stage that calls for strong, proven leadership with integrity rather than leadership selected based on familiarity or personal connections.
“The party now needs men of integrity, and that is very important when you are in opposition,” he stated.
Antwi Boakye clarified that different political situations call for different types of leaders.
“We have wartime leaders and peacetime leaders. Currently, we are in wartime, so we need wartime leaders, not just anyone,” he said.
He cautioned against complacency and internal favoritism, emphasizing that the NPP’s current predicament is too important to be handled carelessly.
“Where we are standing is not child’s play. We need leaders who will be respected both within the party and by the NDC. If we don’t get such men, then we are joking,” he cautioned.
