The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) rank-and-file has been urged to help President Nana Akufo-Addo complete the “final great political feat” of his political career by convincingly winning the general election in 2024 and passing the reins over to an NPP-elected leader.
“I want you to help me achieve the last great political feat of my career in Ghanaian politics — that on January 7, 2025, I will go to the Black Star Square and hand over the mantle of leadership to the next NPP-elected President,” he told the party faithful.
At a national ceremony of thanksgiving held yesterday to commemorate the NPP’s 30th anniversary at the Dr Kofi Ohene Konadu Auditorium of the University of Professional Studies in Accra, the President made the call.
He stated: “Victory in 2024; that’s our aim, that’s our responsibility, and by the Grace of God we will do that.” He made it clear that one of the NPP’s main objectives was to guarantee that the party was retained in the 2024 elections so that it could continue with its excellent activities.
