Very Rev. Dr Peter Yaw Ofori, the General Overseer of the Calvary Victory Hour Centre International in Kumasi, has asked clerics to pray for the youth, as many of them are going astray.
He stated that it was past time for the youth’s minds and hearts to be oriented toward the kingdom of Jesus Christ.
“Unlike our day, when we were focused on kingdom business and things relating to God’s work, today’s kids are simply interested in quick money and would do anything to get it.
“Our parents guaranteed that we were focused on things of the kingdom in our time,” he stated in an interview, “but these days, no matter how hard parents try, the kids are only interested in going astray and engaging themselves in things like occultism.”
Very Rev. Dr Ofori found that many of today’s youth were interested in occultism from junior high school to senior high school and university.
“We just learned that students at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology utilized their school tuition to start enterprises and sought to make a profit before paying their fees.” They are involved in a variety of betting and gambling, which is awful,” he said.
All pastors and Christians, he said, should pray for the youth to change their ways.
“Let us all pray for the youth, otherwise it will not end good for them,” he remarked.
“We will lose a lot of kids if we don’t pray for them,” Paul said in 2 Timothy 3:15-17. “We have taken it upon ourselves at the Calvary Victory Hour Centre to pray for the youth from this year until 2025 to get them focused and their thoughts turned on the things of Jesus Christ so that they would be rescued,” he continued.
