It seemed most Ghanaians weren’t happy with the government’s initiative of absorbing the water bills of Ghanaians for the next three months as he clearly stated in his address over the weekend.
According to the president, he has asked the Ghana Water Company to provide a 24-hour constant water supply and they’ve assured him of a constant water supply with no interruption.
After visiting various social media platforms, it appears that most Ghanaians prefer free electricity to water, as they believe electricity bills are more expensive than water. With that notwithstanding, not all houses have pipe-borne water. Therefore a free provision of electricity bill would have the best as the majority of Ghanaians use electricity in their various homes.
This happens to be one of the measures the president, Nana Akufo-Addo is putting in place as some Ghanaians are currently having a partial lockdown. As residents in both Accra and Kumasi are being asked to stay indoors for two weeks, the government takes drastic measures to curb the spread of COVID -19 which is rapidly spreading in the country.
