Koforidua Development Advocates, a pressure group in the Eastern region, says it will continue a series of demonstrations till deplorable roads and streetlights are fixed in communities in Koforidua.
Massive demonstration was embarked Saturday, August 19,2023 with a huge number of demonstrators over bad roads in neighboring communities and some lorry stations in the regional capital.
The Convener of the demonstration, Agbodo Komla Godsway said that the pressure group will not rest till the roads and streetlights are fixed.
Addressing the press, Mr Agbodo Godsway said demonstrators are demanding good roads and streetlights in their communities.
“Am here to represent the people of Koforidua who are worried about their roads and their street lights,’’ Mr Agbodo Godsway told the press.
Some commercial drivers at the visited lorry stations expressed their worry over the deplorable roads which damage vehicles in the region.
The demonstrators called on the government to construct better roads and fixed street lights in Koforidua communities.
They said that dust and debris from unpaved roads result in respiratory problems for residents.
They indicated that the absence of street lights makes it easier for criminals to operate, threatening the safety of community members.
With the support of the Ghana Police Service, the demonstration was peaceful without destruction of properties in the region.
