National Sports Authority has told the Ghana Football Association and clubs using their facilities to respect the covid-19 protocol measures by government or the authority will not hesitate to resort to playing matches behind a closed door.
“The covid-19 is real people are dying so we authority mandated to control sports in Ghana and people will come to our stadium and will not adhere to the safety covid protocols, we have no option than to close the facility down. Already we were playing the matches behind a closed door so we will revert to the old system” – NSA, PRO Mr Charles Amofa told the media.
“What happened last Saturday at the Accra Sports Stadium was very chaotic where supporters refused to adhere to the covid-19 protocols even when the covid task force team and the stadium announcer were telling them to do so and that’s our problem as a body” – He added.
The president of the republic, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo on his number 23 update on measures taken against the spread of Covid-19 on yesterday cautioned the National Sports Authority and the Ghana Football Association to ensure the compliance of 25% capacity rule in our stadia, with spectators respecting the social distancing rule of wearing of masks.
