Some aggrieved Menzgold customers have promised to cast their votes for former President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama after their money was locked up with the company.
Some Ghanaians have their investment locked in the firm for the past 2 years which has made them agitated.
However, during the outdooring of running mate Mrs Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang earlier this week, the former President promised to pay all customers of the financial institutions who cannot access their locked-up funds within a year when he comes back to power.
According to some of the distressed customers, they have promised to vote enormously if he can fulfil his promises.
“The comment from the flagbearer JDM is very reassuring, but we want him to be more specific with Menzgold that when I come within one year, I will make sure that all Menzgold customers receive their investments”, a customer told an Accra based radio station.
Adding, “that is what we want to hear from him (Mahama) publicly so that the customers will not have any doubt in him. So, we can also go all out and sell his message to our people.”
With others believing that Mahama can fund all the money they have lost since he has been in power for before and knows the pros and cons in the government.
“I think is possible. It tells me he is thinking like a president because he thinks about other people. If you are a leader, you hold the door for others to enter before you close”, he said.
Indicating that some of the customers have lost their lives from the shock the received since their money got locked-up.
Though they were warned earlier not to invest in the firm by the Bank of Ghana (BoG) since the firm was not licensed, still disobeyed.
