The Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) in the Eastern Region is encouraging residents to cultivate the habit of storing water.
According to the GWCL, due to some unexpected technical challenges, it is always unable to serve customers’ uninterrupted water supply which is expected to worsen by the scarcity of raw water this dry season.
“Ghana Water Company Ltd (GWCL) entreats consumers to cultivate the culture of storing water. Factors like equipment/plant failures, power supply challenges, damage to pipelines, major bursts/ leakages, etc constraints the Company from ensuring 24/7 potable water supply, hence the need to store Water always”
According to the GWCL, “The free water supply period has seen the rise in demand for water and as we enter the dry season the demand will be more pronounced. We can assure all stakeholders that we are working day and night to produce and distribute potable water which is our core mandate.”
